Dr. Emad Farrag

emad_farrag.jpgDr Emad Farrag (MBBCh, MRCPsych) is a Consultant Psychiatrist who trained initially at Guys & St Thomas' hospital and later did his Specialist training in CAMHS at the South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. There he developed a special interest in ADHD (assessment and treatment). As a Consultant, Dr Farrag worked in the private sector developing services for CAMHS and also was instrumental in setting up and running an Adult ADHD service. Later, in his capacity as locum consultant has contributed to setting up ADHD services in Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Trust for CAMHS and was part of the task force in setting up ADHD pathway for children & Adolescents in the Trust. Dr Farrag has also been keen in advocating early detection and intervention in childhood and was active in improving links between primary care, education and specialist services and has run workshops to increase awareness of ADHD. Dr Farrag has a keen interest in adolescent ADHD and transition into early adult life. Dr Farrag is a strong believer in working with the strengths of those with ADHD and working to improve the quality of life in ADHD clients. He also has a special interest in the impact of ADHD on family life, relationships and co-morbidity associated with ADHD. Dr Farrag lectures abroad in the Middle East and Egypt raising awareness to ADHD. Dr Farrag takes an interest in philosophy, psycho pharmacology of ADHD, risk management and has a role in an NGO based in Egypt consulting and training staff helping acknowledge and intervene in mental health needs of street children in Cairo, Egypt.
